In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. Since the beginning of August, we’ve seen a best-ever welcome bonus of 60,000 points on the Citi ThankYou® Premier Card. This is a significant increase over the regular welcome bonus, though there hasn’t been a published end date for the promotion, so we didn’t know when the increased offer would end.
While still nothing is publicly mentioned, Million Mile Secrets mentions that the current offer is expected to change on October 11, meaning you have just a few days left to take advantage of this current deal. Again, I don’t have any intel on this so can’t guarantee that’s the case. However, lots of people have asked me if I know when the offer ends (since they’re considering getting the card), and this is the best info I have.
What makes the Citi ThankYou® Premier Card so great?
- The card is offering a welcome bonus of 60,000 ThankYou points after spending $4,000 within three months
- The card has a $95 annual fee, which is waived for the first year
- The card offers triple points on travel and gas, and double points on dining and entertainment
- Points can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio to a bunch of airline partners, or be redeemed for 1.25 cents each towards the cost of an airfare purchase
Transfer Citi points to KrisFlyer for redemptions in Singapore Airlines business class
What it boils down to is that the welcome bonus is worth a minimum of $750 towards airfare, which is great. But that’s not even how I’d use the points, since you can get a lot more value by transferring points to partner airlines and redeeming towards a premium cabin ticket. I’ve argued that the value of ThankYou points has actually increased lately, which is rare.
